AI Strategy & Planning

Before you buy tools, build a plan.

Most businesses don’t need more AI information.

They need help answering one question:

“What should we actually do next?”

AI Strategy & Planning exists to answer that question before you spend time or money on the wrong thing.

What this is

Businesses get stuck in different places:

  • Some need help understanding what’s possible.
  • Some need help deciding what to build.
  • Others need a plan for the entire AI program.

One service, three engagements — one for each stage.

Three ways to engage

  • AI Discovery Session — Understand what’s possible
  • AI Blueprint — Define one project
  • 6–12 Month AI Roadmap — Define the whole program

AI Discovery Session

The simplest way to move from AI curiosity to an actionable next step.

One to two hours, remote or in person, with you and your team.

A working session — a mix of practical training, strategy, and recommendations — built around your business and your industry. By the end, you understand what AI can realistically do for you and where it’s worth your attention.

This is not the free consultation. The free consultation is a short call to see whether we’re a fit. The Discovery Session is a paid working session, and you leave with a written snapshot: where your business stands, what’s worth pursuing, and the recommended next steps.

Best for businesses early in the journey who want grounding before they spend real money.

AI Blueprint — Quoted per engagement

For the business that knows AI could help with a specific problem but doesn’t know what to build or how.

This is the core strategy engagement. We work with you and your team to understand the friction point, the data and tools involved, and what success looks like — then produce the Blueprint: a finished plan that tells you exactly what to build and how to build it. Specific enough to execute, and yours to keep — hand it to your own team, to us, or to anyone else.

If you do build it with us, the Blueprint fee credits toward the build. You’re not paying twice for the same discovery. Most clients build it with us anyway — the practitioner who scoped the plan is the same one who’d build it.

Best for businesses with a clear pain point that’s ready to become a real project.

6–12 Month AI Roadmap — Quoted per engagement

For the business that needs a plan for the whole AI program, not just one project.

The Roadmap defines which tools to adopt, what to build, what to govern, and in what order, across the next six to twelve months. It’s the difference between reacting to AI as it shows up and running an intentional program. In practice, that difference looks like this:

ReactingRunning a program
A new AI tool gets adopted the moment one person starts using itA new tool enters the inventory, gets scoped against your workflows, and is approved or it isn’t
No one knows which staff have personal AI accountsAn approved-tool list exists, and staff know what’s on it
Vendor demos drive your AI calendarYou own the calendar; vendors respond to your scope
Accountability gets sorted out after something goes wrongAccountability is documented before deployment, not after

It’s a standalone plan you can action on your own — or hand to us to execute. (If you want someone running it for you, that’s the Fractional AI Officer — a part-time AI leader on retainer.)

Best for businesses past the experimentation stage that need direction and order.

Who this is for

You’re a fit if you:

  • Run a small or mid-size business between roughly 5 and 150 employees
  • Know AI matters but aren’t sure what’s real, what’s worth doing, or what to do first
  • Have a specific pain point you think AI could help with, but don’t know how to turn it into a project
  • Want a practitioner’s judgment on where to spend your time and money — before you spend it

You’re not a fit if you:

  • Already know exactly what you need — go straight to Training, an Assessment, or an Automation build
  • Want someone to build it for free, hoping you’ll buy later — the work that goes into a Blueprint is the product

The boundary

We assess the container, not the contents.

GuardXID works with the shape of your business — your workflows, your tools, who has access to what — not the contents of your client files, patient records, or matter documents. We never will. This is what makes the work appropriate for law firms, medical practices, and any business where the contents of the work are protected by professional duty.

In a strategy engagement specifically, we work against the shape of your problem and your workflows. We don’t request access to the substantive data inside them.

What comes after

Strategy is the starting point. Where it leads depends on what we find:

  • AI Training — if your team needs grounding in the tools before anything else
  • AI Program Assessment — if what you need is an operational AI program with documentation that holds up to a regulator, insurer, or client
  • AI Automation and Systems — if the Blueprint points to a workflow worth building (and the Blueprint fee credits toward it)
  • Fractional AI Officer — if you want someone running the Roadmap for you over time
